The FAQ

Do you do engagement shoots?

Yes, as a creative wedding photographer, I think these are a great idea,  these can be added onto any of the packages you would like. These are generally done during the weekdays.

Where are you based?

I am based in Cheltenham Town, Gloucestershire, which is well positioned to covering all of the UK and abroad as I am also an International Destination wedding photographer.

In 2003 I relocated my family from West London, I still travel into town on a regular basis with my photography and to see family many of whom are still based in London.

Do you Travel?

Yes I do! taking your wedding photographer abroad doesn’t have to be expensive, any extra fees for destination weddings are kept to the minimum, & I travel & stay the night before & the night of the wedding only & use the cheaper flights and accommodation available.

How many photos do we get?

This depends on the package you have. But it is normally anywhere between 400-800 images.

How long have you been doing this?

I have been shooting weddings since I was 18 years old, so I have at over 30 plus years of professional photography experience and over 250 weddings under my belt.

Do you have insurance?

Yes. I have public liability insurance to 10 million, professional indemnity insurance and kit cover. I can provide a copy to your venue if they request this.

How do we get our photos?

The images will be provided in an online gallery, which is password protected and can be shared with family and guests. A USB pendrive of your images will be sent out 3-6 weeks after your wedding date.

Do you retouch photos?

Depending on your package, images are around 600+ individually edited in my own signature style as you see on the website. The only images that do not get edited are duplicate shots, test shots and people blinking! Any above and beyond editing requests such as swapping heads and removing large items would be charged at extra as per the contract.

Whats your turn around time?

Depending on the time of year, this can be between 3-6 weeks for your online gallery and USB, but ideally this is delivered beforehand. Albums are around 4-6 weeks from design.

Can you help us with planning?

I can certainly offer advice when ask and I am able to recommend good suppliers to use, whom I have worked with and trust to provide services to the highest standards.

How do we book you?

By using the contact form to make contact initially and to check my availability for your wedding date. We can then schedule a zoom call or meetup in person to discuss your plans in further detail.

How far ahead do you book?

I am able to take bookings for one, two or three years hence.

Are we able to pay the amount in instalments?

Yes, this is completely fine. We can discuss payment terms and decide the best steps forward. Noted down on your account and invoiced when you need them.

Do you require a booking fee?

Yes. This is £250 fee to secure your day. This is non refundable and will mean the day is fully yours. This fee covers securing your date and turning away any other bookings for this date as well as admin, contract creation and any phone calls leading unto the booking. I am afraid I cannot hold dates without a booking fee or the paperwork coming back. If you are keen to have me, let me know. Often there can be several enquiries for one date and if a couple come back first with the paperwork they will be booked in the diary. Please do not presume I am holding your date as I do not wish to disappoint any couples.

Do we have any paperwork to fill in?

Yes, although only a small amount. It is important that the agreement is signed, as this can be a long relationship with some couples booking more than 2 years in advance. This contract informs all parties what is expected of each other as well goes into editing, delivery etc. You will also have a booking form with all the important details I would need to know for the day & this would be my go to document. These are provided via e-sign for a simple process. No printing or scanning required! Until this comes back with the deposit I cannot hold the date.

I wish to tweak my package, is this possible?

Of course. All packages are a guide and we can add or take away items as required and I can provide you with a tailor made quote. Just let me know what you might be looking for.

Are we able to print our own images?

Yes, these come print ready at high resolution without watermarks, so you do not need to order prints through me.

Do you watermark your images?

No, all I ask is that if you do share them on social, just give my company a little tag: @jcgphotography  I will be very grateful.

Do we provide you a meal on the day?

It is always lovely to be offered this, as this can be a very long day and anything over 8 hours, has this in my contract. But I never request anything special, whatever is easiest for you and your caterers. It also means I can re-fuel and perform much better.

Do we get the RAW images?

No. I do not provide any un-edited images. Like most photographers, we do not send out any work that is unfinished and non printable.

Do we have a meeting beforehand?

Yes! Normally a month before we would have a phone call or zoom/whatsapp video call to run through the schedule of the day, shot lists for groups and any other requirements and questions.

Do you offer albums and Thank you cards?

Yes! I do both large main and smaller parent albums. These can be in modern digital or tradition style. I am able to supply from a variety of suppliers to suit your requirements and budgets.

I also provide thank you cards, These start at 50 cards and work upwards depending on how many you need.
